Yellow Week – packaging:

Packaging with yellow is really a lot of fun because it involves such a happy and sunny color! Who else out there likes packaging? I know there are a lot of you πŸ˜‰ This packaging is all very simple – I just used lace, twine, stickers, tags, kraft bags, and vintage wallpaper!
All the packaging goods, ready to go.

Stamped a star burst sticker with the date.

Typed a little message on the kraft star burst..

Used a little button to add on the ribbon.

Just used a starburst label and layered different sheets of paper.
Used vintage wallpaper to wrap the box.
Tied it with kraft jute string and attached a wood gift tag!
That’s it! Super fun, super easy! :)

help me decide / packaging:

Hi Friends! I need your help with packaging for my rubber stamps :)
So this is my current packaging:

The stamp and tags fit in a cello bag, it’s tied with seam binding and a tag with the stamp design on it.

But I have these cute handle boxes and think this packaging is cute too. My only thing about this packaging style, is that they can’t see what is inside. The label says “rubber stamp” .. but still makes it unknown unless they actually open up the box and look inside.

So what do you think? Do you like the current packaging or new style with handle box? Thanks for your input, I truly value each and every one of your opinions! :)

etc packaging:

I’ve been packaging some different things here & there, so I thought I’d post some pics for you! You know I love packaging, and I’m pretty sure many of you are into packaging too. Who doesn’t like packaging? I’ve been thinking of doing a pretty-package challenge! More details soon!

gift wrap packaging for the shop!
Nick’s sister needed some supplies for a baby shower so
I sent her a little kit to make stuff with.
My long-time craft show friend Steppie had a 3-year anniversary party so I donated some swag and packaged them with some special tags.
Packaged a rubber stamp that I sold to a reader.

I thought it was about time to share some images of my latest shop packaging. The items I use are really just some basic supplies: stamps, kraft bags, shipping tags, vellum bags, and twine.

I have a couple different items I use to package items like kraft bags, cotton bags, and pocket envelopes. They’re all just so fun, I keep them all near.

The actual item itself usually goes into a stamped pocket envelope, a vellum bag with a label, or a small jewelry box, which is not shown here but I’ve blogged about the boxes before here.

Once all the items are carefully packaged up, they get tied with lace or twine & a special wood tag, just like the ones I used for our wedding invites. They’re so fun!

I truly enjoy packaging, what about you?

wrapping your gifts:

One of my absolute favorite things to do is package + wrap gifts. A pretty package is just as exciting as the product itself, in my own opinion. What do you think? Does a pretty wrapped package make you super happy or could you care less? :) Anyway, I collected a little round up of ideas for wrapping your holiday gifts!

last christmas post for the year friends! i’ll be taking a little break as well – will post a couple things before 2010 though… but i like how holly put it – “nothing fancy or time consuming for you because honestly, I want to set an example and encourage you to take a bit of a break from the web too. If you can. It’s so refreshing.” well said holly.

so i’ll see you in about a week for a ‘best of 2009 summary’ post. hope you have a most wonderful time with your families and friends, just taking in blessings and love. xo.

ama gift packs:

so about a week ago, with the help of nicholas, i spent some serious time making 100+ little gift bags for the american music awards gift lounge. i signed up with alison from the sampler as she was able to get a table at the gift lounge and would represent 30 handmade artists, giving out lots of free stuff to the celebs who came through.

i carefully sewed each tag, tied it with lace trim, and placed lots of oh, hello friend goodies inside the vellum bags. i really liked how they turned out… but am not sure that i would sew so many tags again, heh. it was a lot of work!

we also got the opportunity to display one item from our company on the table.. i chose an item that i felt would really represent my company and hopefully when they’d see my item they would remember it and associate it with the gift pack they received. here’s the display i made up..

ama display item.

sadly, after the event, i got an email from the sampler saying that the necklace actually got stolen before any of the celebs came through :( so no one actually saw my display item. what a bummer. but oh well. i am all too familiar with people stealing (from selling at shows, hehe) and my gift packs were still included in the 100+ bags that got passed out and i’m glad i got a picture of my display. :: and like ivay said, “someone loved it so much that they even stole to have it!” lol, totally :) c’est la vie.

anyway: i actually have a really cool story about someone who came through unique los angeles last weekend and recognized my company from the ama gift bags: so i’ll blog about that later. xo.
